Toastbox, my happiness in a box!

I've been eyeing this uber-cute resto ever since I started working in The Fort, Taguig. Reason was the interior including the comfort room looks like my dream bedroom and the photos of the foodah on the menu look so deliciously sinful. But given the interiors, I knew that that resto would require me to either withdraw a handsome amount of money at my ATM or wash the dishes in exchange for payment. I was wrong. Photo from their official Facebook Fan Page One fateful day, my officemates and I finally acknowledged the fact that we'll be forever craving about this Toastbox unless we give our curiosities a chance to taste it. Sweldo day ata yun kaya malalakas ang loob. O sya, upon entrance, we went directly to the cashier where the pictures of the foodah are placed on a poster above. I saw their noodles ranging from P180-P200++ so I immediately disregarded ordering one. Besides, I'm there for the TOAST. I asked "ate" in the counter about their bestseller toast b...

Taking yogurt to a next level: White Hat and Tutti Frutti!

My tastebuds celebrate when they are fed with sweet and tangy food like Yo-Gurrrrt! I just love the combination of maasim and matamis melting in my mouth, but not too much kasi it's nakakaumay like yeah. (haha, baliw) So in behalf of my tastebuds, I am very thankful that the yogurt craze or fad has finally invaded Metro Manila malls. I am particularly thankful that Tutti Frutti and White Hat are both around. I don't see them as competitors actually, because they have different selling points. Lemme digest these even further: 1. Tutti Frutti With Tutti Frutti, you are absolutely in control of your yogurt experience--from the size, to the flavors, down to the add-ons, you're the boss. So kung lasang rubber shoes na nakatapak ng *** yung order mo, all your fault teh. Haha. But what I suggest is this: Combine the original (white) yogurt with taro (of course, violet sya. magulat ka kung yellow itech). Then sprinkle some rice crispies na madaling maubos, then dash in so...

It's never too early to start. Getting ready for UST@500!

And so part of my job in the magazine I'm working for right now is to cover awesome events like the Neo Centennial Countdown in the Royal and Pontifical--my beloved--University of Santo Tomas, Espana, Manila, Philippines! O kumpleto address, kulang na lang postal code. My photographer-slash-boyfriend and I arrived in UST on perfect timing, just when the Press IDs/Media Passes ran out from Office of Public Affairs. No frets though, the organizers got to print them immediately. I noticed that the media registration list was full of TV news outfits and was predominantly TV5. Walking through their so-called "media box" was like a brisk walk through both heaven and hell. But in reality, it was from the Main Building lobby to the middle portion of the football field. Heaven, because of the yummiest smell of some chicken grilling all over the campus (later that night I saw stands by Chooks to Go), and hell because it was like a strong temptation to lust over food than t...

Oils and Scrubs Spa's New Home

Newsflash: Oils and Scrubs has a new home in along JP Rizal in Brgy. Olympia, Makati City. I just got the e-newsletter today from them (I'm subscribed since I'm a member. You could have yours too when you visit their website, OilsAndScrubs.com). It looks kinda hard to locate, but thank God for Google Maps. I'll try to drop by and see if it's a better spot or not. Their newsletter also said they are now offering hair services in the new spa too and I'm not thrilled about that. Hope their spa and body scrub services won't be compromised. I promise to post photos of the new spa location when I get there. Probably next month. But if you guys have the photos, please tweet those to my very lazy Twitter account: @danielleclara :)

Latey Katy? But kinda worth it.

Katy Perry gave me an epic first time. It was my first time to wait for a performance for more than two hours STANDING really, really straight. Hell yeah challenge to my knees and ankles. There was no way for you to sit first while waiting because the Mall of Asia concert ground is full with over 25,000 exhausted fans. And to top it all off, there was not even one organizer/staff that went on stage or grabbed a microphone at the backstage to assure everyone that the concert was not a big joke. It was so frustrating. My legs were so shaky so I kept on semi-squatting for a couple of secs from time to time just so to make sure my knee joints are still functioning. This is no exaggerating, ha. When I watched Black Eyed Peas at the same concert ground under same ticket lane (?), the audience only waited for one hour and endured some songs from an all-girl group front act. Endured talaga term? Lol. But this one’s epic. Thank God Katy Perry did emerge from the stage. She quipped about ...

Lulur Scrub at Oils and Scrubs Spa

So last Friday I finally experienced full body scrub at my favorite spa in Makati City, Oils and Scrubs Spa. I'm a junkie for massages and pampering as long as they are really dirty cheap. The package I availed myself of yesterday was Lulur Whitening Scrub with 1-Hour Massage for P499. If it weren't for their promo (lasting until January 31, 2012), I wouldn't jump all the way from The Fort to Amorsolo and celebrate my <3 monthsary there. Without the promo, a 1-Hour Massage costs P400 and the Lulur scrub alone is I think around P499. I already imagined it would be great, and indeed it was. Before the scrubbing session started, "Ate" asked me to undress and wear the disposable underwear they provided. Then, she asked me to pick which among the Asian Secrets scrubs I want her to use by smelling them. Holy cow I forgot to asked the difference of the three aside from the fragrance! But anyhow, I didn't smell it much since I was facing downwards. Then it st...

Syempre may welcome post!

Hello mga teh! Good morning, good afternoon and good evening to all. Thank you. (Gay beauty queen? JK) Welcome to my travel and lifestyle blog, Tara, Teh (In English: Let's go, sis! -- Naks, assumerang may foreigner reader). I have always been fascinated with travel and lifestyle ever since grade school thanks to my over-exposure to cable TV, particularly with The Lifestyle Channel. That's more than more than a decade ago! And gladly, after graduating with a degree on AB Journalism in the University of Santo Tomas (Go Uste!) I eventually landed in an international travel and lifestyle magazine as its Feature Editor. I've  been literally going places lately, in and outside my working hours, celebrating my youth and the leftovers of my payslip. Expect a plethora of personal reviews on restaurants, hotels, resorts, spas, and other bunch of things in this blog. For teaser's sake, I vow to make my reviews on Casa Roces Restaurant, Cyma Greek Restaurant, Resorts World Man...
